my folktale the i chose to write about and also compare to the purittans was called the first tears. there were some differences between the two that i noticed. and one of those differences were that the puritans focused more on relgion. while on the other hand the folktala that i wrote about focused more on nature. i feel that the europeans believed that god only cherished a chosen ones on earth. and only saved those chosen ones and everyone else were born sinners. and they also believed that only sermons could interpret the word of god or forgive one for their sin. while the folktale that i read didnt focus on religion it focused more on nature. they believed that god created ways for man to hunt to feed their families. so therefore i feel that this particular folktale focused more on god and nature and the ability of ones family being able to survive through nature. and i do see where these two cultures will possibly clash because they are different as far as their beliefs go. because one focuses more on what people are saved and what people aren't , while the other basically believes that all are created equal.
